ZFW delivered a landmark performance at the European Junior (u20) Championships in Tbilisi, securing three individual medals and a team bronze in one of the club’s most successful international outings to date.
Amelie Tsang opened the medal tally with a superb bronze in the Junior Women’s Foil. This was followed by an exceptional result in the Junior Men’s Foil, where David Jacob Sosnov captured gold and teammate Mohammed Belbouab claimed silver, before the pair added a team bronze to complete an extraordinary campaign.
These achievements are the product of meticulous preparation and years of dedicated development within the ZFW programme.

This result echoes a milestone from 25 years ago, when ZFW‑trained fencers Halsted and Kruse achieved gold and silver in the same event—underlining the club’s longstanding legacy of excellence.
ZFW extends its gratitude to coach Peter Barwell for his exceptional work with Amelie Tsang, also to Jai Birch for his work with Sosnov and to the club’s dedicated parent community whose support makes results of this calibre possible.
