A successful end to 2018
Over the last quarter of 2018, ZFW produced some remarkable performances and notable successes.
As well as Richard Kruse being crowned 'Lion of Bonn' in November (see article here) and no less than 11 club fencers being asked to represent England at U13 and U15 level (more details here), the following are highlights:
Senior Turkish Nationals 29 Dec 2018 Congratulations to Tevfik Burak Babaoğlu for SILVER at the Turkish National Championships!
Hall of Fame | Czech Fencing Federation 21 Dec 2018 Maestro Ziemek is awarded the honour of becoming a member of the Hall of Fame of Coaches in the Czech Fencing Federation together with Jaroslaw Jurka. Alexander Choupenitch has been also recognised for his BRONZE medal in European Championships!
European Cadet Championships 18 Dec 2018 Congratulations to our cadets Cameron Evans and Joe Donaghue for selection in the Cadet Squad for the upcoming Cadet and European Championships in Foggia, Italy from 21st to 26th February 2019
U20 FIE Havana Junior World Cup 16 Dec 2018 Matthew Abrahams come 13th at the Havana World Cup 2018 and is now 49th (top 50!) in the junior world rankings! Rock on, Matt!
U23 British Championships 15 Dec 2018 "Dragon of Brno" Dominic de Almeida strikes again!!! This time U23 British Champion !!! Also congratulations to "Field Marshal" Edmund (Ed) Howlett for U23 BRONZE!
Zagreb Senior & Cadets 9 Dec 2018 Double GOLD in Zagreb! Alexander Choupenitch for senior GOLD and Marek Totušek for cadet GOLD!
FIE Junior World Cup | Bankgkok, Thailand 1 Dec 2018 Congratulations to ZFW warriors Matthew Abrahams (best British result) and Dominic de Almeida for top 16 and top 32 respectively in this strong Junior World Cup.

Junior World Cup - Eden Cup 3 Nov 2018 Congratulations to Dominic de Almeida for top 8 result! The "Dragon of Brno" gave a truly great performance which was also the best British result. ZFW family is very proud of you and Lt. Colombo (in Ziemek-speak, that must be Ed Howlett!)

Paul Abrahams, father of ZFW's Matt, wins silver at the Commonwealth Games in Australia as part of the England Veterans' Foil team, narrowly losing to Scotland in the final 45-43.
Nottingham Cadets BRC
Congratulations to Cameron Evans for GOLD and to Edmund Howlett for BRONZE at the Nottingham Junior BRC. Good results from Dylan Daniel and Joe Donoghue for reaching top 8 in the cadet competition and from Matthew Abrahams for top 8 in the Junior BRC.
Further congratulations to Cameron for SILVER in the North America Cup Cadet - a strong competition with 200+ participants! Awesome, Cameron!!!
Leon Paul FIE satellite
Bravissimo Alexander Choupenitch for GOLD in Leon Paul FIE satellite tournament today. It was the hardest from all satellites competition with well over hundred participants. Congratulations to Dominic de Almeida for breaking ice result in finishing 10th.
More congratulations to Dominic for SILVER in the U-20 British Ranking tournament in Newcastle on 7th October. Nice hoodie Dom!!
