Historic 4th - now all eyes on the team
ZFW's Richard Kruse came so close to winning Britain's first fencing medal for over 50 years, narrowly losing to Russia's Timur Safin 15-13 in the Bronze medal bout of the Men's Individual Foil. A courageous fight-back from Richard led to a nail-bitingly close ending, but the Russian held on to grab the Bronze. Congratulations Richard and Ziemek - thank you for being so inspirational for the aspiring ZFW warriors!
Earlier, James-Andrew Davis lost out to Safin in the Round of 16, and Laurence Halsted lost to Chinese Haiwei Chen in the R32. Italy's Daniele Garozzo beat American Alexander Massialas to win gold.
Now all fencing eyes turn to Friday's team event, which starts at 1pm and runs through to the final at 10.30pm (BST).
