Richard started his career at The French Fencing Factory in Highgate, concentrating on Epee. He learnt everything from his coach, Priscille Lepoutre, who also assisted him in Foil.

He now teaches fencing in many schools across London. His proudest moment was coaching and winning the London Youth Games in Foil with Team Ealing.  He still competes in regional foil competitions to keep improving his ranking.

Richard mainly attends the club on Fridays and Saturdays, when he runs the beginners' sessions.
